Bridging Students, Families, and Schools

Ithaca SEPTA connects students, families, caregivers, and district leaders and staff to strengthen communication, share information, build community, and support collective advocacy for ICSD students with disabilities, students with suspected disabilities, and other students with learning or support needs.

WHY WE EXIST: OUR FOUR PILLARS

Partnership

We strengthen communication, trust, and collaboration among students with disabilities, families/caregivers, educators, service providers, and district leaders to support student success and continuous improvement.

Clarity

We help students with disabilities and their families/caregivers understand and navigate special education information, processes, rights, services, and resources.

Belonging

We strive to build an inclusive, connected, and supportive community where no family or student feels alone.

Advocacy

We empower students with disabilities and their families/caregivers to advocate for themselves, elevate shared community needs to improve systems, and promote informed, non-partisan engagement on issues affecting students with disabilities.
